The Princess of Wales has revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer and has begun receiving chemotherapy treatment in its early stages.
In a heartfelt message recorded in the serene gardens of Windsor Castle by the BBC, Catherine shared that her diagnosis followed significant abdominal surgery in January.
After weeks of speculation regarding her health, Catherine, accompanied by her husband Prince William, took the necessary time to inform their three children—George, aged 10, Charlotte, aged eight, and Louis, aged five—about the situation.
The timing of the announcement coincides with the start of the children's Easter holidays, indicating a deliberate choice.
"This news was truly unexpected, and William and I have been diligently managing it privately to protect our young family," Catherine expressed. "It's been a journey to recover from major surgery and commence treatment. But above all, we've taken the time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that's suitable for them, reassuring them that I will be alright."
