A sensational shift in the attitudes of Bulgarian citizens towards the upcoming parliamentary and European elections has been measured by the sociologists of the “Estat” agency a week before June 9, when we will determine who our new representatives in the National Assembly and the European Parliament will be. "There is a surge in the patriotic vote, with national and conservative movements being the favorites among voters," commented the agency, which surveyed the preferences of 733 adult citizens.

GERB convincingly leads with 16.8% and is the leading political force, while the result of PPD-B, which has plummeted to 8.2%, is twice as small. Ahead of them, by one and a half percent, is the previously considered “tail-ender” BSP, which, however, garners approval among 9.7% of the survey participants.

The big surprise, according to “Estat,” is VMRO, which surpasses Ivan Geshev's party nearly threefold, "Blue Bulgaria" led by Petar Moskov, and “We Are Coming,” gathering 2.2% of the vote for the national parliament and 3% for the European vote. "We do not rule out the possibility that by June 9, the 'Voivodes' will increase their support further, given the overall patriotic and conservative trend in society," predict observers of political processes. Supporting their words is the good performance of “Vazrazhdane,” which also significantly surpasses the right-wing, winning 8.9%.

The result is not as optimistic for Vanya Grigorova, considered a favorite among the debutants for the National Assembly and the European Parliament, who fails to cross the 4% threshold for the national parliament or get close to the threshold for Brussels. Her party, “Solidarity Bulgaria,” garners only 3.7% of the preferences of those surveyed.

The sociological survey was conducted among 733 Bulgarian citizens. Of them, 50.6% are determined to cast their vote in the elections, 24.8% say they would likely vote, and 7.8% consider that they are unlikely to go to the polling stations. 12.1% of the respondents categorically refuse to vote, and 4.6% are still undecided, according to the political attitudes survey before the 2-in-1 vote.
